Samsung TV Error Code 107: How to Fix It

Error 107 means your Samsung TV reached your network but couldn't complete the connection to the internet or Samsung's servers — almost always a network or DNS issue, not a broken TV.

Quick answer

Error 107 is a connection fault between your Samsung TV and the internet/Samsung servers. In most cases a full power cycle plus a network reset fixes it.

  1. 1.Unplug the TV for 60 seconds (hold the power button 30s while unplugged), then plug it back in.
  2. 2.Go to Settings → General (or Connection) → Network → Reset Network, then reconnect to Wi-Fi.

What it means

Error 107 appears when your Samsung TV managed to join your home network but could not finish the handshake with the internet or with Samsung's servers (the layer that lets apps talk to the internet).

Because the fault is almost always on the network side — router, DNS or a temporary Samsung/app outage — the fix is about refreshing the connection, not repairing the panel.

Common causes

  • Temporary router or DNS glitch. The most common cause: the router or its DNS stopped resolving Samsung's servers and needs a refresh.
  • Weak or unstable Wi-Fi. The TV is too far from the router or the signal drops, so the connection can't complete.
  • ISP or Samsung-side outage. Your provider's DNS or a Samsung/app service is temporarily down.
  • Outdated TV firmware. An old Tizen build can mishandle the connection and surface as 107.

Before you start

  • Test another device (phone, laptop) on the same Wi-Fi — if it also has no internet, the problem is your router or ISP, not the TV.
  • Check whether the affected app (or Samsung's servers) is reporting an outage.
  • Note if the error started right after a firmware or app update.

Fixes, from safest to last resort

1

Power cycle the TV

  1. 1Unplug the TV from the wall (not just the remote power-off).
  2. 2With it unplugged, press and hold the TV's power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power.
  3. 3Wait a full 60 seconds, plug it back in, turn it on and try again.

This clears the TV's temporary memory and re-initialises the network stack — it often resolves 107 on its own.

2

Reboot your router

  1. 1Unplug the router's power cord.
  2. 2Wait 60 seconds so it fully resets.
  3. 3Plug it back in, wait for all lights to stabilise, then retry on the TV.
3

Reset the TV's network settings

  1. 1Open Settings → General (or Connection) → Network → Reset Network.
  2. 2Confirm with Yes.
  3. 3Reconnect to your Wi-Fi and enter the password again.

This clears saved Wi-Fi and network settings but does NOT remove your installed apps or accounts.

4

Set the DNS manually to 8.8.8.8

  1. 1Go to Settings → General → Network → Network Status → IP Settings.
  2. 2Set DNS Setting to Enter manually.
  3. 3Enter 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS), save and retry.

Useful when your ISP's DNS is the thing failing to resolve Samsung's servers. 8.8.4.4 works as a secondary.

5

Update the TV firmware

  1. 1Go to Settings → Support → Software Update → Update Now.
  2. 2If Wi-Fi won't connect, download the firmware from Samsung's site to a USB drive and update from USB.
  3. 3After updating, restart the TV and retry.
6

Factory reset (last resort)

  1. 1Only if every step above failed and other devices have internet.
  2. 2Go to Settings → General → Reset and enter your PIN (default 0000).
  3. 3Set the TV up again and reconnect to Wi-Fi.

⚠ A factory reset erases all apps, logins, picture settings and preferences. Try everything else first.

If a menu doesn't match your TV

  • If you don't see 'Reset Network', look under Settings → General → Network on older Tizen models, or Settings → Connection → Network on newer ones.
  • On The Frame and some 2016–2018 models the Software Update path is Settings → Support → Software Update.

When to contact support

Contact Samsung support if the error persists after a firmware update and factory reset, or if other devices have internet but the TV still fails on every network:

  • Have your model number ready (Settings → Support → About This TV).
  • Mention which steps you already tried, especially the network reset and DNS change.
  • Ask them to check for a known service-side issue for your region.

Frequently asked questions

Does error 107 mean my Samsung TV is broken?+

Almost never. It's a connection error between the TV and the internet/Samsung servers, so it's fixed on the network side (restart, network reset, DNS) rather than by repairing the TV.

Will a network reset delete my apps?+

No. Reset Network only clears saved Wi-Fi and network configuration. Your installed apps and logins stay. A full factory reset is the only step that removes them.

Why does changing DNS to 8.8.8.8 help?+

If your internet provider's DNS can't resolve Samsung's servers, the TV can be on Wi-Fi yet still fail. Google's public DNS (8.8.8.8) bypasses that.
