TCL

TCL sells two very different smart TV lines — Roku TV models and Google TV models — so the right fix depends on which system your set runs. The most common problems involve remotes that stop responding, TVs that won't power on, and streaming apps that crash.

Frequently asked questions

My TCL TV won't turn on — what should I try first?+

TCL's first fix is a hard power cycle: unplug the TV from the wall for at least 60 seconds, and while it's unplugged hold the TV's physical power button for about 15 seconds. Then plug it directly into a wall outlet — not a power strip — and try again.

How do I restart a TCL Roku TV without unplugging it?+

Press Home on the remote, then go to Settings → System → Power → System restart. It's the least invasive reset — your apps, logins, and settings are untouched.

Why isn't my TCL remote working?+

Fresh batteries first — that fixes most cases. Standard infrared remotes also need a clear line of sight to the front of the TV. Voice and enhanced Roku remotes work over wireless instead and may need to be re-paired with the TV.
