Fire TV

Fire TV is Amazon's streaming platform, running the Android-based Fire OS on Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Cube streamers, Amazon's own Omni, 4-Series and 2-Series TVs, and Fire TV Edition sets from Toshiba and Insignia. Alexa voice control and the Amazon Appstore are built in. The most common complaints are apps crashing, low-storage warnings and remotes that stop pairing.

Frequently asked questions

How do I clear an app's cache on Fire TV?+

Go to Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications, choose the app, then select Clear cache. Clear data also signs you out of that app. Newer Fire OS versions add a Clear all Application Caches option in the same Applications menu.

How do I restart a Fire TV without unplugging it?+

Hold the Select and Play/Pause buttons on the remote at the same time for about five seconds, or go to Settings → My Fire TV → Restart. A restart doesn't delete any apps or settings.
